Malachi has been a part of the competitive functional fitness scene in Colorado and Wyoming for almost 10 years. Hailing from Oil City Fitness in Casper, he has won more live competitions than you can count with your fingers both locally and nationally. What a lot of people don’t know about Malachi is what a phenomenal person he is. He is a great friend, infinitely positive and optimistic, and has always found himself moving forward at work and in life through hard work and existential determination.
For many years his day job consisted of hard labor yet he never complained. During that period he would often work out early in the morning, go to work, workout again in the afternoon or at night to stay in peak condition. He did all this and still is the consummate family man! He has juggled multiple ways of supplementing his income for his family and supported his wife when she opened a women focused gym Empowered Hustle and Fitness. Through continued hard work he is now in a sales position with his company but does a lot of traveling away from his family.
Ultimately, it is because of people like Malachi that make this event and concept so special. Please be sure to come out not only and watch what an amazing athlete he is but also to support him on his competitive journey.
Malachi resides in Casper Wyoming with his wife Ashlee and two Children, Jeremiah and Aralye.
Kelsey is a fantastic athlete and even more inspiring person! She is originally from Bloomington, Illinois where she grew up playing sports while mainly focusing on competitive cheerleading and cross country. Her passion for running persisted after high school as she competed in half, full and even ultra marathons! She then discovered functional fitness while working at her current gym in Fort Collins. She fell in love with the community, accountability, hard work, and competitiveness.
Like many of her fellow athletes, she has maintained a full time position at Genesis Health Clubs for the past 7 years. For a long time she held a management position and then courageously followed her passion to be a functional fitness coach and personal trainer. Being a leader in fitness, helping others, and training competitively are now her main focus. One glance at her Instagram page confirms this and highlights her wonderful personality!
If she isn’t coaching or training for functional fitness you will find her reading books, rollerblading, and spending time with her friends.
You will be hard pressed to find anyone who is so positive and such ray of light to those around her. It is because of people like Kelsey that we are so excited for our event and thankful for local gyms where you can find those like her transforming their community. Be sure to come out and support her at our first event on April 22nd!
Kelsey resides in Fort Collins, Colorado.
JP is used to having his hands full and taking everything in stride. He was raised in Castle Rock, Colorado and began CF in high school to help him improve in both baseball and football. After High School he continued his athletic career down at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) where he played DII Baseball while studying Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. After collegiate baseball ended he began working full time at Lockheed Martin and refocused on training competitively in CF. Within 3 years of training he has already found himself in the running to compete in the CF semifinals. He credits most of his drive and success to God, his girlfriend, close friend group and his family. That drive is further deepened by his relationship with his brother Reece who has special needs. Reece is his motivation day in and day out. After only a few conversations with JP it is clear his determination and work ethic are only matched by his humility.
JP’s hobbies outside of CF consist of golfing, snowboarding, hanging out with friends and family and anything competitive.
It will simply be amazing to have someone like JP participate in this competition. So be sure to come out and support him!
JP currently trains with the @stepuptraining crew out of Backcountry/CF Loop and resides in Castle Rock.

Just because Elisa is new to REPS AHEAD does not mean she is a stranger to competition!
She discovered functional fitness after her senior year in college (2011) and really dove in after she graduated. Being a phenomenal athlete her whole life she competed collegiately at CU as a triathlete and on then again on the National team. Once she transitioned out of competitive racing, she found the perfect outlet within CF for community and competition.
Her functional fitness journey began at CF Sanitas in Boulder, CO where she competed at the CF regionals twice as a member of their team. Work then took her to Denver where she started going to CF Omnia for a more competitive environment and competed on their team at the Games in 2021 and 2022 (placing 7th in 2022). Most of us have also seen her excel at local competitions as she is well recognized throughout the region.
Despite setbacks due to injury this year she is ready to make her return to competition for V.02. When she is not in the gym, she loves spending time outside hiking or biking, and enjoying a margarita on a nice patio.
Be sure to come witness Elisa compete on august 12th against an amazing group of athletes!
James and Kassandra Hobart know a thing or two about fitness. James boasts nine appearances at the CF games including 2 affiliate cup championships with CF Mayhem, 1 affiliate cup championship with CF New England, and a podium finish in the Masters 35-39 division. Kassandra held her own appearance on team with Reebok CF one in 2018 as well. Both of them now train at CF Mafia in Erie, Co and frequently work out together as a couple at home.
James has been a fixture in the functional fitness realm for years as an athlete, affiliate owner, seminar staff flowmaster and CF employee. He has done everything from appearing in workout standards videos to becoming a product manager in his current role. Despite these accomplishments it is clear James is all about community. Whether it be coaching/training at CF Mafia or with friends at his home, you will always find him engaging the people around him.
Kassandra is a co-founder of a digital health company and works as a nutritional therapy practitioner. She shares the same passion for those around her. She has been competing competitively for over 10 years and shows no signs of slowing down. She is a huge fan of outdoor activities and travel.
We are very excited for these two and all the other athletes who will be competing in the REPS AHEAD Invitational V.02 on August 12th. You don’t want to miss the chance to witness them in action!
20 gym members participated in 10 matches over the course of an hour, and we had a blast! Most Exciting match goes to Chris and Patrick!
It. Is. Going. Down! REPS AHEAD is headed to Liberty Lake Washington to have the first major event in the short history of this format. Tyler Eggimann and James Sprague will throw down in this innovative, never before seen format. Here is the sequence our athletes will be doing:
14 REPS AHEAD
12 box jump overs 24"/20"
6 Hang squat cleans 155#/95#
12 Chest to bar/Pull up
PRO FORMAT: The athletes perform that sequence of movements until one of them gets a set number of REPS AHEAD. Once that occurs the match ends.
There will be an allowance for 8 rounds that are 2 minutes long with a 1 minute rest between. The REPS AHEAD are cumulative each round, so each athlete will start with the same score from the last round and always start on the box jump overs in the current round. Once an athlete is the prescribed REPS AHEAD in any given round, they win.
If all 8 rounds are completed without either Athlete achieving the required REPS AHEAD, the athlete with the highest score will win.
